I was trying to decide how to start this little expedition of mine and here is what I came up with (by "I came up with", I mean a friend suggested).

I am no pro Gardner but have been doing most of my life. My family used to have a huge garden, it was our main source of food.

My grandmother was always outside in one of her many gardens, my Father loves being outdoors and I would garden with him, and my Mother enjoyed a nice, clean, flower bed so I would weed the gardens with her. Sooo, yes, gardening is something I am quite good at, and very much enjoy doing. I couldn't tell you the name of the plant I am raising (unless it was for food), but I can make it live and grow, so I would call that success. :)

This Year however my vegetable garden was a bit of a failure as I was working so much I didn't get around to planting my garden until a good month into the growing season. I knew deep down that my tomatoes and peppers wouldn't make it (they need a proper amount of growth), but I still tried. This is my tomato about one week before the first frost...

No worries though, what I lack in vegetables this winter and make up for in window plants...

I know, I know, there are many more plants out there, and this isn't that many comparatively. But. This is my very nice little collection and it brings me a lot of joy. I don't need any more then this, and I literally can't fit any more as of now.

Plants are a fun, pretty, low maintenance hobby that if you are not already participating in a little bit I would strongly suggest you do. It is lots of fun and is a really good way to clear your mind and relax. Plants just have a way at making any room a little more happy.

Most of my plants started out as little babies and I purchased them for about three dollars each, saving them from their slow, painful, clearance section death. Honestly there is something about taking car of a little plant buddy that is just really fulfilling. It is, in a little, tiny bit of a way, similar to the way a (good) parent would care for their child, and watch them grow up. I know it definitely isn't even close to having a child, but same concept, the plant depends on you, and the love and work you put into it shows as it thrives.

So yeah, that is how I feel about my plants. All of mine are all very well behaved and always mind their manners, I am proud of all of them. The first succulent I ever got has six children now, one of its children has two children. So I have three generations of one succulent plant. It is pretty nifty not going to lie.

I really love my plants, and I think everyone should have at least one special plant in their life.

Not only do plants look super snazzy, but they also were created in such a nifty way. All the little pieces and parts of each cell, and the way the uses roots and water and the sunshine is just kinda epic. Plants are almost always a good metaphor for something.

Plants just have a happy vibe, and will bring you joy every day, so consider saving a clearance section plant at your local shopping center next time you have three extra dollars to spend.

I get way to excited about plants, so I hope this was an enjoyable rant.

This has been my something for today. :)

They have an online flyer so check that out before you go. This time of year, they don't seem to have plants every week.

Aldi can be an inexpensive source of houseplants and succulents. In 2019 I bought a bunch of mini-succulents for $1.99 each. And the flowering bulbs in pots or hyacinth vases can cheer you up in the winter. They had hyacinths in glass this past week. But since it's growing in water, it's a throwaway plant. When they are grown in dirt you can keep them growing after they bloom, and plant them out in spring, and next year or the year after they will bloom in your garden. Also, if your grocery store has primroses you can plant them out in spring.
